Understanding what he or she might be feeling.  At time you may have experienced the things that they have.  Keep in mind that your child is not being difficult on purpose, he’s simply suffering.

Encourage physical activity; simple things such as riding a bike can help your teen.  Also encouraging social activity, take your teen and friends to movies, or a sporting event.

Be involved with the treatments, go with your teen and make sure he’s doing as prescribed.  Also learning about depression, you would do it if your child suffered from any other disease, why not do it for your teen’s depression as well.
