Does exercise help depression?
According to the Mental Health Foundation exercise is an excellent and preferred
treatment method of treating mild forms of depression. Exercise gives you a boost of energy and something to work towards. Many people who are depressed find themselves feeling like they have nothing worth working towards or important in their lives. Regular exercise will give you noticeable results if you continuously make sure to include it your daily routine. If you spice up an exercise routine to involve a friend or your favorite mix of music it also gives you something steady to look forward to in your day.
Endorphines are released from the brain whenever you are doing a physical activity. This chemical will give you a positive feeling that is not only natural but also good for you.
Improved self esteem is also a factor that will help many who are depressed. By improving your body image you will be more confident and your self esteem will rise. Setting small goals for yourself when it comes to your overall health and exercise will also give you a sense of accomplishment. Give it a try for a week and see how it can positively affect not only your depression but also your overall outlook on things.
There are also so many other benefits that come from exercise. This article here: Five Benefits of Exercise can also give you a great amount of insight as to why exercise can be a great thing for you both emotionally and physically.

Exercise is a great thing for depression
I don’t know if they have them all over the country or not (but I’m pretty sure they do), but Meetup.com has several walking groups that go on weekly or monthly walks. If there’s not one in your area, you can always start one!
A walking group would give you a chance to socialize and meet new friends while getting your exercise.
Nice post!
